Sudha Murty is an author, philanthropist, engineer and former teacher. Through the Murty Trust, she is dedicated to preserving art, cultural and scientific heritage, books, manuscripts and knowledge systems born out of India. Through the Infosys Foundation, she has established schools, hospitals and orphanages across India. Sudha Murty is also a prolific author for children, writing in both English and Kannada.
She is the recipient of prestigious awards including the Padma Bhushan, India’s third highest civilian award and Bal Sahitya Puraskar, the R.K. Narayan Award for Literature, the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Award and two awards for excellence in Kannada literature.
