Shabnam Minwalla writes for children and young adults. Her latest book is Zen, combining romance, history, and politics and reflecting her love for Mumbai. Her books have won numerous awards. They include the Nimmi series, and When Jiya Met Urmila (Winner, Neev Book Award). Her books for young adults include Saira Zariwala Is Afraid (Winner, AttaGalatta Bangalore Lit Fest Award) and Murder at Daisy Apartments (Winner, Auther Award).
Shabnam was a journalist with The Times of India and has written non-fiction, including a book about the neighbourhood of Colaba in Mumbai.
