Piers Bursill-Hall

Piers is Mathematics Faculty at Cambridge University, lecturing on history of mathematics and history of science. He has lectured in Europe, North America, South Asia and the Far East on a range of topics to do with history of mathematics and its culture. His research has ranged over past mathematics from pre-Euclidean proof theory and geometry, ancient astronomy, Renaissance engineering, the changing status of mathematics in the Renaissance, and Enlightenment mathematics. Recently he has also become interested in early Islamic science, and is currently co-authoring a book on ethics in mathematics.
