Peter Frankopan is a leading historian and Professor of Global History at Oxford University. His latest book is The Earth Transformed: An Untold History, which looks at the role that nature, climate and the environment have played in the past and how they have been changed by human activities, for good or ill. His best known earlier books are The Silk Roads: A New History of the World, which was a global bestseller and The New Silk Roads: The Present and Future of the World, which won the Social Sciences Prize of the Carical Foundation.
