Dr. Meeran Chadha Borwankar belongs to the Indian Police Service, 1981 batch. She did her Doctorate in Organizational Management from Pune University and was a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow at the University of Minnesota USA. She currently sits on the boards of several academic institutions. Recipient of the President of India Police Medal for Distinguished Service, Meeran Borwankar writes about crime against women and children, law, governance, human rights and gender. She is the author of three books Leaves of Life, Inspector Chougule and recently published Madam Commissioner.
