Martin Kemp

Art Historian, United Kingdom

Martin Kemp studied Natural Sciences and Art History at Cambridge University and the Courtauld Institute, London. He was Professor of the History of Art at St. Andrews and the University of Oxford. His 30+ books include The Science of Art; The Human Animal in Western Art and Science;  Christ to Coke and more recently Mona Lisa; Living with Leonardo, and Leonardo’s Salvator Mundi. He wrote regularly for Nature, the essays for which have been developed in Seen and Unseen. In 2021 he is publishing Heavenly Visions: Dante and the Art of Divine Light.
