John Pilger is an internationally known multiple award-winning, investigative journalist, documentary film maker, scholar and writer. An Australian based in Britain since 1962, Pilger has critiqued various governments and media in his career of more than six decades. He is critical of Australian, British, and US foreign policy, which he considers to be imperialist, and also of the mainstream media. Pilger has reported extensively about the often silent wars of several western countries, highlighting genocides and occupations from East Timor to Palestine to Vietnam. He has also criticised Australia’s treatment of its indigenous citizens.
