Girish Shahane is an independent writer and curator based in Mumbai. He has degrees in English literature from Elphinstone College, Bombay University, and Oxford University, which he attended on a Rhodes scholarship. He was editor and later consulting editor of Art India magazine. He has been a columnist for Time Out magazine, Scroll.in and Mint Lounge. He was Director of the Skoda Prize for Indian Contemporary Art, Artistic Director of Art Chennai, and Artistic Director of the India Art Fair. The most recent exhibition curated by him was Conjunction of the Spheres at Bikaner House, Delhi, in September 2023.
