Chandra Bhan Prasad is a leading Dalit entrepreneur, thinker and social commentator. He holds post-graduate degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi. He is a visiting scholar at the Center for the Advanced Study of India, University of Pennsylvania. His wrote a weekly column “Dalit Diary” for the The Sunday Pioneer newspaper for 15 years. He has been profiled by The New York Times and The Washington Post. His latest book, co-written with Professor Devesh Kapur and D. Shaam Babu is titled Defying the Odds: The Rise of Dalit Entrepreneurs. Prasad is also known for launching the idea of Dalit capitalism.
