C S Lakshmi also known as Ambai, is one of India’s leading writers of fiction and the recipient of the Tata Literature Live! Lifetime Achievement Award for 2023. She has received several awards, including the Sahitya Akademi Award, India’s highest literary honour. Her stories are about love, relationships, quests and journeys in the Tamil region and elsewhere. They have been widely translated into English.
