Amrita Shah is a writer and journalist. Well known for her pioneering investigations into the Mumbai underworld, she has worked for the Time-Life News Service, edited features magazines, Debonair and Elle, and has been a contributing editor with The Indian Express. She is the author of Vikram Sarabhai-A Life (Penguin-Viking, 2007), Ahmedabad: A City in the World (Bloomsbury, 2015) and Hype, Hypocrisy & Television in Urban India (1997) republished as Telly-Guillotined: How Television Changed India (Sage-Yoda, 2019)
