Events that shaped the destiny of India are well documented from historical and political perspectives. The lived trauma of people and their families caught in these larger than life events is difficult to capture through neutral academic works. Fiction, by delving into the minds and motivations of characters experiencing the turbulence, provides better insights into these worlds. Through two books, one set around the birth of Arunchal Pradesh and the other at the time of the Babri Masjid riots, we get a sense of how these events continue to impact so many lives.
