Note from the Facilitator

Personal essay is a genre of its own. This form uses first person and draws on life. Experience to construct essays on broader topics. Personal essays might contain elements of auto/biography and memoir, but it can also involve criticism, lyricism, and other hybrid writing styles. My workshop focusses on vulnerability, connection, and resonance in personal essay.
