Amitav Ghosh is a multiple award winning writer of fiction and non-fiction. He has raised environmental and climate change issues in his more recent works. He has been awarded the Padma Shri, one of India’s highest national honours, and was the the first English-language writer to receive the Jnanpith Award, India’s highest literary honour. His books have been translated into 30 languages.
